We are so excited to introduce our August Socialite of the month, Katie Humphress. Katie is a 1-on-1 consulting client from Kentucky that we have had the pleasure of working with + helping grow her social media presence. Katie is one of the sweetest souls you'll ever meet + we are thrilled to share more about her with our audience!
Hi there! Tell us a bit about yourself and what it is that you do!
Hi! I’m the Founder of the nonprofit Lane of Roses--a resource for women to live out their God-given potential. I speak at different events and write quite a bit too. My book, Fake IDs, is based on stories shared on the Lane of Roses website.
How do you think your best friends would describe you?
Well, I asked the friends I’ve known the longest because talking about myself makes me feel weird. My best friend, Sarah, said, "fiercely loyal & refreshingly optimistic," Hannah said, "sees the best in people," and Amy said, "intuitive and quick-witted."
So you’re a past Social Studio Shop Socialite. Can you tell our audience a little bit about what products or services you’ve participated in with us and what your experience was with those?
I've consulted one-on-one with Jessica five times--four via Skype and once in person. I'm from Kentucky, but when my husband and I visited Cali I contacted Jess to get together. She's amazing! We’ve also bought webinars here and there to train new interns--so helpful.
Before getting together with Social Studio Shop, what were your biggest struggles with social media?
Social media didn't feel real to me--I felt like an imposter of myself. I still feel a little fake sometimes, but Social Studio is helping me realize how to stay true to myself and maintain a theme/brand at the same time.
Since starting your social media journey, what has been the biggest change you’ve seen in your brand?
The photography. I loved the images from Social Studio and saw how the branding really drew me in. Since working with a photographer you can SEE the difference head over to @laneofroses on Instagram and you can see a clear evolution of our brand. We have an amazing relationship with a local photographer. Plus, Jessica gave me some tips to use on my personal account as well. I’m no photographer, but I’ve learned a thing or two.
Any exciting news you want to share with our readers?
Yes! One of the best pieces of advice I've EVER received was at the coffee shop in San Diego with Jessica. She told me to find people who represented the same values & had the same goals and work as a team. I'm excited to announce I've found the business partner of my dreams! Rebekah Perryman is the new Director of Operations for Lane of Roses. I can’t tell you how much of a relief it is to have a true partner. It’s a game changer.
