Jessica Howell


With over ten years experience + a BFA in Photography, Jessica uses her creative savvy to coach entrepreneurs + bloggers on their digital strategy. Her background in visual communications led her to a successful career in social media marketing where she has spent the last 4+ years consulting brands on social media.

Since 2014, Social Studio Shop has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs and bloggers grow online with intention using successful purpose-driven strategy. Through their workshops + one-on-one consulting sessions, Social Studio Shop inspires community, facilitates meaningful connections + teaches brands to grow online with purpose.

Jessica's knowledge in social media marketing has been featured on Social Media Marketing World, Social Media Social Hour Podcast, Yellow Conference, 100 Best Sites for Solopreneurs, and many more!

Besides all things social, Jessica loves to spend time with her husband and their golden retriever. She enjoys hiking and camping with her family in San Diego, searching for the best local cup of coffee, and experiencing all that life has to offer.

Samantha Welker

Business Manager

An entrepreneur at heart, with a serious love for all things pretty, Samantha has been passionate about social for as long as she can remember.  As a Harvard Business School grad with a background in finance, Sam quickly discovered that her love of making connections and cultivating creativity outweighed her love of numbers. After departing the corporate world, Sam created her business coaching company, Little Petunia Consulting, which works with creative entrepreneurs + small business owners on HR, finance, + business strategy. 

Sam has a penchant for lifestyle, DIY and cooking for her cowboy, which led her to create her blog, Little Petunia in an Onion Patch. She’s a contributing blogger for various outlets and loves cultivating and participating in events around San Diego with other creatives. When she’s not blogging or being social, she spends her spare time with her husband, her baby boy, Rocky + her two fur babies, Lucy and Pea Eye.

Soon after graduating high school, Cortney nearly dove head first into the creative world. In 2012, she found herself managing + overseeing social media for lifestyle blogger + designer, Mrs. Lilien. Her position in the world of social media advanced and she found herself cooperating with household brands like Tide, Dove, YOOBI, 3M, Kelly Wearstler + more! 

Naturally, Cortney pursued a design career, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic + Web Design and now runs her own freelance design company, Alvarado Creative Co

When she’s not in front of her computer, you can likely find her with her nephew on her hip, a beer in her hand and her husband by her side!

Emily Meade

Community Cultivator

 With a degree in Public Relations and Journalism, Emily has always had a unique love for social media and communication. Graduating college a few years ago on the East Coast, she made her way out west to temporarily volunteer with a non-profit organization in their Communications Department. Three months turned into the present and since then, Emily has discovered a newfound passion for helping small start-ups and businesses better communicate their story and mission by way of social media. 

When Emily isn't busy putting together social media strategies, or crafting the perfect flat-lay, you can find her doing all things creative, spending time with friends, or exploring her Southern California playground.
